Flock of birdies

Sharon, Ann & I all had a birdie during our round 2 weeks ago.  That has never happened to me before - everyone in your group getting their own birdie!  Ann was first, Sharon was second and I was last.

Color

I wanted to see how easy it was to work through the camera, since the 5D does not have live view.  I was pretty surprised - you see so much that it was not difficult at all to achieve critical focus.

First flight

Oh the robins are noisy this afternoon.  Probably because they have 4 babies all over my yard.  I just went out to pick some peas and surprise, one baby was hiding in a pea bush!  Anyway, I was fortunate enough to be eating lunch as the last robin left the nest.  It was interesting.....one last bite to eat, and then one last poop removal (like the babies expression on that one) and then it dropped to the ground.  As you can see the flight was kinda like the Wright Brothers, but I think the bird made it over to the flower garden and it was probably faster than running over to it!

Coffee at Cathy's

Dawn & I went out to Cathy's for coffee this morning.  We had an absolute blast.  It felt like we were having a "big year", with all of the varieties of birds that flew in.....she even had an indigo bunting stop by!

I bought a new/old camera body and it came today.  One of the things that it is very well known for is the processing that the camera does.  So these are jpegs out of the camera with just a titch of sharpening an +2 contrast added.  Just dandy for me!  

Grandma's sale

Well, all of the "stuff" is gone.  I did find one more galvanized watering can that I put in my car before the sale began!  Darwin found a Sesame Street playhouse that he had as a child and a friend bought Dad's lunchbox.  She came and showed it to him and was so nice, offering for him to have it, but he was happy that she found it and at least let me take a photo.  Vernan & Jane were there from Fremont and when we talked about "collecting things".  I told them that I collect photos.....  So I got a few nice ones today for my collection!

Dawn, Cathy & I went up there this morning.  It was a beautiful morning to be out.   Shot jPeg only and these are right out of the camera, just cropped a bit here and there.  No other color adjusting or sharpening.
