So here's the scoop....Darwin has a cold. He really didn't think that he should go down and eat all of this delicious food that he couldn't taste. Just then, a little JEEP pulled up to my mailbox....Ramona....maybe she'll be spontaneous & join me tonight. I ran out and startled her as she was driving to our neighbor. She came and we had a WONDERFUL meal! Every bite was filled with flavors that made us just sit there and say "yum". The restaurant was dark and lit by candlelight, so I thought the photos from this evening should also reflect that.

Squaw Creek Year End BONUS
Deb & I introduced my college friend, Robert, to Squaw Creek. It was a total safari today. This was the first time that I was there this year, since it was all flooded for many months. Everything was there from thousands of snow geese, many eagles & swans and best of all AN OWL!!!! I spotted it in the distance as it looked like a tree trunk. When I looked through my binoculars, that tree trunk had EYES! An A+ adventure!!!!!!!!!

Birding in December
Deb & I went for a LONG walk today. Saw a couple of bluebirds and a busy woodpecker storing up food for winter.

Snowflake Studio practice - with turbinado sugar
This shows my "studio" setup for snowflakes. BUT, it is 55 degrees in my sunroom, not the needed 0 degrees to shoot snowflakes. Nothing special at all done to these photos, just adjusted sliders in Camera Raw and then converted them for the web.

Frosty morning!
Darwin & I were at a Christmas party last night until midnight. When we went out to our car, frost was EVERYWHERE! It was amazing. So, Deb & I were going to go snowshoeing this morning, but instead we went to our favorite cove to take frost photos. These were processed in DPP and the color of the bottom 3 was saturated by moving the slider from the left towards the bell curve.
