The is a really tiny bird. I like how it matches the food.....7D+100-400 through my sunroom glass.

Digiscoping at night......with the SLR
My scope became a 1,000 mm SLR lens this week with an adapter. This was a 6 second picture taken at ISO 400 in the dark. The sign is across the street from me, probably about 100 feet or so. My jaw hit the floor when I saw how clear the picture was. The light source was the street light. I even like the colors right out of the camera.

Afternoon at Branched Oak
I'm not going to win any contests here, but Dawn and I had a blast out at the Lake today. There were thousands of birds and loads of eagles. Taken with the scope.

Nebraska State Capitol
The doors were locked to the state libary, but there was about an inch between the doors. Just enough to get an interesting picture.
Spent the afternoon with Pam today. There is a super nice lady that works there named Gloria. She let us see the Supreme Court chamber. Don't miss it if you go! 1D + 50mm

Breakfast surprise - Cedar Waxwings
I was eating a bowl of cereal in my sunroom this morning and noticed that the tree was filled with birds. I couldn't believe it when I saw that they were cedar waxwings!!! I quickly got my 7D+100-400 and went around the front of our house. They stayed for a very long time.
This is a digiscoped picture, not as good as quality, but uncropped to give an idea of the difference in taking the picture with the 100-400 and the Zeiss scope.

Krista in the Cheese Cave
Krista said she has only a few pictures of herself and the cheese, since she's always doing the work. So, today, I wanted to capture her absolutely delightful personality in the cheese cave. Wouldn't you like to try some? Just after we were there today, she was doing an interview for a local magazine. I'm pretty sure one of these pictures will be with the article. 7D+60mm

Bread & Cup Brining Project - whoops I only have my P&S camera!
Kevin is participaing in a meat project. He is doing so from a chef's perspective of actually preparing the meat and then putting it on the menu. I drove all of the way downtown, sure that I had the right bags and found out I only had my S95 in the bag. Ooops. Rather than drive all the way home - I just used it. The pictures turned out just fine - putting one point in the column that it might not depend quite so much on your equipment, but rather the photographer.
