Holmes Lake

It was a beautiful morning to walk today.  The sunrise was bright against the yellows of the grasses.  Everything is flooded at the lake right now.

New Old Lens

1D with 50mm 1.8 at 1.8 and 1/16000 shutter speed.  Pretty cool for such old technology!

Lincoln Children's Zoo

Deb & I went to the zoo this morning.  We arrived just as it opened and went to the butterflies.  They were releasing the new ones and so the young man's hat seemed to be one of their favorite places to start life.  The eagles are injured and could not survive in the wild.

Holmes Lake Golf Course Poppies

Deb & I went out early this morning.  1D + 70-200.  On the last picture, I used my vari-ND filter to catch the movement in the morning breeze.

Working Edison Lightbulb - 100 years old!

This is something you don't see everyday....a 100 year old lightbulb that still works!  It's at Oft's B&B and I wanted to be sure to get a picture of it working 100 years after it was installed.  There will come a day when the switch is flipped and it will not work, but we now have proof of the 100 year mark!

Linda's Sexy Wurlitzer

During the day, the Wurlitzer quietly sits in the corner.

Wow, but watch out.  Once the sun has set, the Wurlitzer sets the mood.
Add a few beads.....
And you have one sexy stereo!  Anyone who stays there is welcome to push one of those red buttons.

Oft's Bed & Breakfast in Bennington

Darwin and I went to Bennington to take pictures for our friends Gordon & Linda.  They have just finished restoring Gordon's family home and it is open for business.  Anyone going to Omaha should consider a stay here.  Their prices are good and the food is awesome.  After the sunset, the house turned back in time as the beads that divided rooms glowed and the soft yellow light filled the rooms.

Dragonflies & Birds at home

Deb & I went to the Nature Center this afternoon.  The dragonflies were everywhere and IMPOSSIBLE to take pictures of.  They are so very busy.  The kingbird & owl were a little more relaxed.
