Waterton Day 12 International Peace Park Hike
We hiked the entire 9 mile length of the lake today, from Canada, back into the US with 2 guides. One Canada Parks guy named Steven, and one US Park Ranger Sarah. It was a wonderful day with 33 people on our hike. We then road the original boat back to Waterton.
Waterton
Here is our view from our campsite. Directly to the mountains/lake! How about this setting for a hotel. It overlooks the long lake.
Waterton Day 11
We crossed the boarder today. You can see that there is a cut tree line where the boarder is. Also, you can see why Waterton/Glacier International Peace Park is called, the place where the prairie meets the mountains. There are no foothills, which make them look all the more dynamic!

Glacier Day 10
The sunrise was spectacular this morning. Here's a view from our third floor of the main lobby. Many Glacier Hotel will be featured in the upcoming Ken Burn's The National Parks series this fall. It was built in 1914 and guess what, the fire alarm system works. The fire alarm went off at 2:15 am the night before last. Nothing like having a fire alarm go off when your staying in a nearly 100 year old wooden structure!
Glacier Day 9 - Grinnel Glacier
This morning we took 2 boats, across 2 lakes and hiked 1,600 feet up over 3.6 miles to Grinell Glacier. It was awesome.
Glacier Day 7
Here is a baby osprey trying to figure out what in the world wings do. It hasn't left the nest yet. We arrived at the Many Glacier Hotel and much to my surprise, we had a balcany! It was super lovely, even though it wasn't water side. Here's the sunset.
Glacier Day 6 - Highline trail
Oh, do I have a new favorite hike in my lifetime! This is it. You start from the summit, at Logan's Pass, then you walk well above the Going to the Sun Road. The walk is on this huge slope and at any time you could slip and fall hundreds of feet. It was wild and amazingly beautiful.
Glacier Day 5 pm pt 2
We were so hot, that we took off our boots and had a very cold foot soak before we hiked back. On our way to our campground, we saw a gray wolf (I think).
