Frosty Day

I was busy this morning and kept watching the weather out my office window. The frost lingered and lingered. Finally, I was done with my work and ready to run my errands. I threw my camera in the car and stopped at the lake on the way. It was really pretty. No blue sky, only white...sort of foggy....very quiet and still.

Amazing Christmas Gift

We went snowshoeing this morning at the lake and this is what I saw. I've only seen this one other time in my life.

Icy things in my backyard

We've had quite a strange storm. There is a lot of ice everywhere. These, of course, are just from my backyard spruce tree. Taken in M mode with my 60mm macro.

A special surprise

Darwin had been "collecting" things from our house all week and when we got to his company Christmas party, he showed me a room key! He had candles & cider & a dozen red roses waiting for me in the room. He pulled it off without me even having a clue. Those are the best surprises! Thanks dear!

Christmas on 84th St

I took pictures this weekend at our church event. Everything worked just great!

Ohhhh... Christmas Tree

We got home tonight and this is what was going on in my neighbor's yard. Taken on my tripod, couple of seconds exposure.

Ice

This one was taken later with a tripod.

Happy December. I woke up this morning to this wild display of ice. I wanted to take pictures, but it is still "raining" and Darwin is still sleeping since he worked a good part of last night. I got out a golf umbrella and used my monopod. That way I could hold my umbrella with one hand and manage the camera with the other. A nice use of a monopod! I shot this in M mode and the 580 flash was -2/3. It was very dark, so I wanted to get just enough light to make it look natural and not "flashed".
